But while we’re here, let’s celebrate Naked Boys Reading: The Moribund 4th Birthday Spectacular on Thursday 29th September at the Ace Hotel. Jacqui Potato has selected a few passages that she says ironically allow the listener to wallow in the depths of despair! Starts at 7:30pm and continues ‘til 3am with a Clam Jam after party!
On Fridays, there’s a new night at Metropolis, 234 Cambridge Heath Road (where Savage takes place on Saturdays), hosted by Jodie Harsh. Dollar Baby opens at 10pm and goes on until 5am with a superstar guest list of hot DJs and decadent dressers! And at Savage on Saturdays, the basement is opening in October for some dancefloor action with new residents including Louie Banks, Jacqui Potato and me! Starts Saturday 8th October night hawks!
Meanwhile this Saturday 1st October, I’ll be dropping in at The Glory for a DJ session. One of my favourite haunts for a camp night out! Expect drag shows and basement action until 2am!
Up at Vogue Fabrics (VFD) it’s the welcome return of Sassitude Vol. VII on Friday 30th September, yaaassss! Hostess and DJ Emily Rose England takes sass and attitude to new levels in this cult basement venue from 10pm to 3am.
I’m a total bookworm, so at my favourite book shop Donlon Books on Broadway Market this Saturday 1st October, get in for the launch of Life and Death on the New York Dance Floor, 1980-83 by Tim Lawrence, who will be reading from his book on the night from 6:30 pm.
They tell me East Bloc is being revamped… meanwhile Dungeon Meat welcomes you to its hallowed depths for a major sweat fest to the pulsating beats of DJ Wes Baggeley and Gideon on Saturday 1st October 11pm – 6am…OH MA GAWD! Yes get ready for that one!
Next week we’ll be hotting up for Halloween, because let’s face it, Halloween is Gay Christmas nowadays!
